About

Welcome

I am so glad you decided to stop by and check out our humble blog.

I am the mum, in a family of three, heading off on a global adventure with the world as our playground. We have not been deterred with the arrival of our precious Aurelia and if anything encouraged to get out there and show our daughter the wonderful world she is part of. We are guaranteed to bite off more than we can chew.

The idea for this blog was a tiny seed planted in my mind in early 2009 during the planning of our overseas adventure. Avoiding the wrath of the grandparents who were having their gran daughter abducted overseas for more than a year, the blog was created to update friends and family.

However we had a second important reason behind creating the blog.

Travelling occurs in all stages of life however in my experience finding up to date, first hand information and experiences about travelling with a small child was difficult. People seemed to think that we should be staying at home with our little one.

If we had wanted to stay in family resorts with kids clubs, ala Club Med then we could find information easily. For parents who were planning to backpack, information was harder to come by.

A fellow traveller told me "You don't read about parents like yourself because they are off travelling, you'll meet them along the way". This proved to be true.

The best information we received was gathered 'on the road' from others and from experience. However for parents who are looking for information and first hand experiences to alleviate those planning nerves, we hope our experiences help.

And the title for the blog. Well we had decided to follow our dream to travel the world, relocate to work overseas all while parenting a toddler. The title came from the frequent responses to our travel plans. Let's just say that "Gee You're Brave" was the polite version.

Some say Brave, other's say foolish - only time will tell
