So our current status is renters and home owners. Confused? Well we rent a home in the suburb of our choice and we own a home that we purchased while pregnant (yes technically the bank owns that house - well the majority).
We moved to our current location when we returned from our overseas trip and we continued to rent our property with good tenants - touch wood! We don't want to live in the are we rent but our house is a great little investment property with good returns.
Nick and I had the discussion about future plans and decided that realistically we just couldn't afford to buy a house in our dream location( where we rent) until we were both back at work. We could both see another addition to the family down the track and we knew I would want to be home with the second bubs like I was with Raya. Reality bites
Out of interest I checked out Domain each week both for rentals and buying. Our rental is old and I was worried that if the owners sold we would be stuck with another rental property more than double the current price. And yes I enjoyed looking at the houses for sale. The mean house price in our area is over $1 million dollars with some lovely homes.
So I watched the market. I saw how many properties were sitting on the market, the prices and how prices changed over time.
Watching out of interest but totally comfortable with knowing that we weren't purchasing.
Until I saw the house.
I watched it for several weeks. I watched the price drop and when it reached it's current price I demanded that we go and at least have a look.
It is seriously the worst house in the best street scenario.
Nick went to appease me I am sure. During the first inspection Nick was very quiet and I thought it was a bad sign. Me - well my heart beat fast as soon as we went inside.
It was in a bad way but this baby had great bones. I knew we could turn her into a supermodel - she had great bone structure.
Once we left Nick and I both bubbled over with how much we loved it.
This could be our Forever home.
We weren't planning on buying but sometimes things happen for a reason, right?
Now we are planning a second look and a building inspection - but I have a good feeling about it.
I feel it could be our Forever home
